Dekkjastærð 235/70-R16 eru með belg sem 235 mm á breidd, hæð frá felgu er 70% af breiddinn og þvermál felgu er 16 tommur. Ein tomma er 25.4 mm.
Þvermáll dekksins í tommum er þá 16+2*(235*0.7)/25.4 = 28.95 eða 29 tommur.
